The Bright Light Social Hour Release EP and American Pale Ale

September 28, 2018

Austin psychedelic band The Bright Light Social Hour today unveiled “Missing Something,” an EP marking the band’s first collection of new music in three years. KCRW named “Trip With Lola,” the first single from “Missing Something,” one of their “5 Songs To Hear This Week” the week of its release.

Released via Modern Outsider, “Missing Something” was produced by the band, mixed by Spoon’s Jim Eno, and mastered by Dave Cooley (J Dilla, Wolf Alice, Blood Orange, M83).

The band will celebrate the release of “Missing Something” tonight with a DJ set at Austin’s Pinthouse Pizza, where the “Bright Light Social Hour” American Pale Ale will make its debut. They brewed up a tasty collaboration beer with the PHP team named Bright Light Social Hour - 5.2% ABV. They have attempted to harmonize beer and music with this self titled hoppy pale ale brewed by Pinthouse Pizza. Brewed to match the vibes of The Bright Light Social Hour’s musical style the beer is silky smooth with a clean finish. Brewed with a hefty dose of Mosaic hops paired along side Amarillo and El Dorado to compose a pleasant, approachable and low bitterness fruity hop character. Notes of berry, grapefruit and melon this beer is sure to embody all that is smooth and dank.

This Sunday, the band will once again take the stage in their hometown at Cheer Up Charlie’s after previewing the EP there last week. Following that show, the band will continue on their tour of Texas, hitting Houston and Dallas in early October.
